Getting to Timbuktu
We often here this cliché from words and expressions. But if you mention it in African soil, they will direct you towards it. It is situated in central Mali, West Africa and you are bound to find this lone structure in the middle of nowhere.
You have several options of getting there and apparently the best way would be by boat. You can also try it out by plane which can be faster as boat rides can take a couple of days.
But before you think of Timbuktu, find out how to get there. Apparently you still have to pass by Bamako so that you can see the major trading depot for the caravans of the Sahara Desert of old.
