マサイマラ国立保護区はケニヤで一番の野生動物公園です。 違法密猟が大きな被害をもたらしたため、初めて1961年に猟師から野生動物を保護する目的で設立されました。 多くの観光客達はマサイマラを訪ねるためにケニヤに来ます。 その美しさと豊かな野生動物たちが、素晴らしい野生動物との触れ合いを求める観光客たちを魅了し続けています。 マサイマラはケニヤの南西部、タンザニアとの国境にあります。 国立保護区は、南の端に広がるタンザニアのセレンゲティ平原とのリフトバレーにあります。 マラリバー は保護区を流れており沢山のカバとワニのメッカとなっています。 百万を超える野獣とシマウマの移動が毎年行われます。 マサイマラは毎年11月から6月にかけてかなりの降雨があるため、主に草原で占められています。
